IEA Team
What is IEA? Interscholastic Equestrian Association is a wonderful program that gives our students a chance to ride and compete in a team format. Similar to the college level riding program, IHSA, riders are divided into divisions based on riding ability and draw a horse out of a hat to show. This program challenges riders to experience many different types and styles of horses and to adapt to the horse quickly. This program fine tunes students to become knowledgeable and skilled riders.
Lucky Fox Farm manages 2 IEA teams, Middle and High School. This is a great opportunity for all level riders to get an introduction to showing without having to own a horse. Each show offers the opportunity to participate in testing his/her horsemanship skills and knowledge. As instructors, we emphasize a well-rounded equine education and a team building experience where all our riders support one another both in victory and in loss.
Registration for new seasons begins in June and goes through November of the competition year. IEA regular season runs from September to February. Each rider is allowed to show in 5 regular season shows. Post season starts with riders accumulating 18 points in a class over the entire season to qualify for regionals. Each class is calculated separately. Post season competition includes regionals, Zones and National Finals.
We are always looking for more riders to join our teams!!! Give us a call to talk about IEA today!
